I, Dr. Morgan Goss, D.O., am a board-certified family medicine physician with a flourishing family practice but have always had a peaked interest in hypothyroidism. Early on in my medical practice, I noticed many of my hypothyroid patients with "normal labs" did not "feel normal." So I began to dig deeper and I began to study more into Hashimotos Thyroiditis, having been diagnosed with this myself during medical school. When I saw my endocrinologist and inquired about a plan to help prevent my thyroid gland from having autoimmune destruction, I was told there was "nothing to do but just wait until you need medication for hypothyroidism." This was a disheartening diagnosis and treatment plan. Therefore, I set out to find ways to help heal my own thyroid and to help others reach their potential with the same diagnosis as well as manage my patients' thyroid replacement to reach maximal benefit. I really try to listen to my patients' symptoms, rather than purely interpreting test results, as they often do not match up.

 

Over the last 8 years, I have helped MANY patients'--especially women--improve their quality of life living with hypothyroidism. Improvement in metabolism and weight, thinning hair, aches and pains, depression, constipation and brain fog and the many other symptoms--THAT is my desire and I would love to help anyone in Alabama experiencing the same so that your thyroid health can thrive. I will do my best to listen and help develop a treatment plan that brings major results.

 

The thing I have learned and that I need patients with hypothyroidism to understand is that thyroid hormone care takes TIME and results will not be achieved overnight. It will require taking the medications correctly, drawing labs at the correct time frames so dosages can be accurately adjusted and it will require one to pay close attention to your body.
